programming is one of the most important concept in a computers course but i found it very difficult to learn with my lessons hence i got this book set. i am pretty impressed with both books as i was able to pick up the basics of c++ and python programming quite well and quickly from here . the instructions are pretty simple and easy to follow hence, beginners can learn easily.
Sorry, don't know - just an Arduino beginner myself!
You need to know C programming language at least a little bit too understand how it works. It's good of you know but there is some pre existing code available to You. You don't need to buy anything else unless you want some other accessories that you need work with. This set is self sufficient for beginners.
There are so many components in this little kit. I was simply amazed. I got this for the summer to introduce my kids to Arduino projects and it was quiet easy to follow. It came with easy to follow projects included in the CD and easy instructions to integrate everything. We haven't had a chance to do all the projects but it's a great start.
There are numerous small projects you can do with the kit. A lot of the beginner projects involve LED's. You must understand some of the theory before you dive in. There are multiples project examples on youtube. Off the top of my head some projects would include: 1. Traffic Light (LED's) 2. Proximity Alarm System (UltraSonic Sensor, LED, and Buzzer) 3. Digital Barometer (Temp Sensor & LCD Display) 4. Timer (8 segment display) and the list goes on. Do some upfront reseerach on youtube to see if there are projets you want to build before buying.
Almost any computer would do - I would suggest a Windows operating system but that's just me. I really liked the kit. I am beginner (but older, 67 yrs). I broke a little pin on one of the sensors and the company sent a couple free replacements so I would (and have) order from them again. I think a CD came with the kit but latest software and User Manual is available on line. You write/compile small computer programs on your computer and transfer to the Arduino Board via a USB (provided) to run them.
I found the Elegoo Kit an excellent choice for the beginner. The number of components along with the MEGA2560 Arduino Board has such a strong value to cost basis, that it would be hard not to consider the purchase a Great Find. The CD that comes with the kit is a Good Introduction to using the Arduino and how the Inputs from the various sensors, or other devices can turn On & Off your Outputs such as stepper motors, servos, and the LCD Display (just to name a few). The kit also works will with other tutorials that you can find on other sites. And the learning process helps propel you forward into building your own "One-Off" items, such as Infinity Mirrors and Robots. I found the Instructables Site, and YouTube a fantastic journey into the creative minds of others, that can generate easy to build projects for yourself, based on where your interests take you. The kit takes you from making the basic electrical and mechanical connections, to loading your "Code" into stand alone programs that are uploaded into the Arduino Board. GitHub and AutoDesk are also fantastic sites to explore for additional information and to include in your own projects. I have not been disappointed at all with my purchase of the Elegoo Mega2560 Kit.
Yes, this is a great kit to introduce beginners to electronics. There are a ton of different components and there is a tutorial on the ins and outs on how they work and how they work together.
A most comprehensive collection of components, plus a CD written manual pdf file on application of each item. Great for getting started with Arduino's, and peripherals, I'm still working my way through the many peripherals available to experiment with.
A cheap multi meter is all I needed. unless you go to utube for instruction, I went to an Arduno course for complete beginners and for that course I needed an 8 ohm speaker and some alligator clamps to complete a couple of projects they showed.
As someone with no prior programming experience, this book was a delightful first foray into the programming world. In nearly every chapter I experienced an aha! moment- a fact that definitely reinforced my enthusiasm while reading through. This book is segmented into easily digestible chunks, which aids in its readability and re-readability. You could read this book for fifteen minutes during a coffee break or you could whittle away an evening working through the post chapter challenges and, in either case, feel as though you had not wasted a second.…
The self taught programmer is the ideal book for anyone new to programming. I've purchased a few other books on Python and have always struggled with all of the practice examples as they all pertained to solving mathematical equations. Cory is brilliant in providing examples throughout the lesson and then applying real world practice questions to compliment and test your comprehension of the material. His technique in presenting complex topics in simple terms that everyone can understand is really what makes this book shine. So why are you still reading my review?…
I really like these books. After struggling to work on websites for close to 20 years, I am now able to design and build my own site. I do "steal" liberally from other sites, just as the authors (and all other html coders) teach you to do. These books offer a logical outline, chapters, information chunking, and examples that make them wonderful resources for initial learning ---and forever after.
