I love this book for my four year old grandson who has a limited vocabulary right now. It holds up well to his use. He can now identify some of his feelings and we are working on appropriate ways to handle being mad, and frustrated etc. I find it very user friendly and great tool in helping me talk to my grandson about what he may be feeling.

My kid loves the pictures

Very useful and interesting.

Great for explaining emotions to kids

It is very helpful for children to identify and cope with emotions.

Is the monster or emoji better for a 3-year-old?

It really depends on the child. Our monster characters are not scary looking so kids love them, and of course emoji's are very popular with kids as well. We just launched the Emoji Flipbook today (6-27-19).

Kids love identifying their own feelings

This is a great way to get kids to open up

Happy kid

My daughter love it!!! She feels so happy to have so many different options to deal with any feeling she might be discovering at her 4 years shorts life :)

Perfect feelings game for young therapy clients, students, and your own kids!

What I love most about this game is that there are multiple ways to play it and I love that it covers a wide array of feelings. It’s a great ice breaker in play therapy with my younger clients and is great for teaching emotional literacy and empathy. At home, my 2 young toddlers love playing with the cards, so I just leave them out and they are already identifying and relating to some of the feelings on the cards. Look forward to purchasing more as gifts for my therapist/teacher/mommy friends!

Beautiful cards for younger children or developmentally delayed

This will be great for younger kids in my practice.…

Great Product

…The teacher uses the card as a way to get kids to talk about their feelings and to show empathy to others.…

Got this for my child therapy practice and then bought another for my grandkids.

…Self-awareness of emotions and the verbal expression of thoughts that go with them provide kids with an alternative to acting out the frustration that accompanies an inability to find the words.…Any parent who plays with these to teach their kids will have the same vocabulary and know to encourage it’s use.…

wow

Best for therapy

I’m a Psychotherapist who occasionally works with kids and although I do sandplay therapy, have art supplies, and other activities for elementary age kids, I wanted something for younger kids (3-7) and oh my gosh these are amazing!…

Baseline for emotional language

…I think it is a good baseline for emotional language for young kids.

Awesome resource for working with kids

…The words were kid-friendly and facial expressions matched words in a really realistic way.…Best emotional vocabulary resource I have as a therapist for young kids. I wasn’t always crazy about the ideas for managing each feeling, but there is space for kids to create their own.

Great for kids 1st grade and up

…The cards aren't crazy sturdy for little hands, but will hold up fine for older kids.

AWESOME game!!

The kids I work with love this game!!

great game to play

Great to engage kids in different ways to express feelings. I play it different ways with the kids.

what do you do with the blank cards?

Hi There, Currently in the first edition the entirely blank cards serve as a break for kids. The intention being to give them a little reprieve from digging on their emotions in between some of their turns. In the future I'll be including more explicit instructions on what is now the blank card to clarify this. Cheers, Jesse Funk Creator, Don't Go Bananas

What is the difference between this game and mad dragon?

Both games use prompts to get kids to answer questions about their feelings. Both use Tarot size cards and bright illustrations. The few significant differences are that Don't Go Bananas focuses on 5 emotions (anger, sadness, jealousy, worry, fear) and Mad Dragon is focused solely on anger. Don't Go Banana's questions are based on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy's ABCD model whereas Mad Dragon doesn't use a psychological method for their prompts (as far as I know). Lastly the gameplay varies in that Mad Dragon is based on Crazy Eights/Uno and Don't Go Bananas has its own original game mechanics of stacking 1, 2, 3 cards.

Great game for young kids!

Great for my twin sons with social emotional issues due to trauma. They have trouble identifying and managing their feelings, this helps them talk about some key concepts and makes it easy for them to understand. And its easy and it doesnt take forever to play!!!

Thumbs up
