This is a fantastic mold for air dry clay. I flatten the clay first with a rolling pin until I achieve a little over 1/2 inch thickness then pressed the clay sheet down into the mold, using a small sand bag to make sure I fill all crevices. 24 hours later, the mask comes out effortlessly. I clean the mold with baby wipes, and it is as good as new after every use.

Perfect Halloween Flayed face cheese mold recipe!

It was perfect for making a cheese mold for Halloween!…

Will chocolate work with this to make a chocolate face for a cake?

It would work but I’m not sure how easily the chocolate would release from the mold. The mold is rigid plastic. Maybe to release it if you put front, plastic only part in warm water briefly once the chocolate is hardened? I lined it with cling wrap and made a Halloween prosciutto and cheese mold with it. It worked perfectly with good facial detail. Good luck.

Can you use a liquid latex paste with this face?

I sprayed the mask with silicon before I used the latex to make a mold. I was afraid that the latex may stick to the plastic is the reason for spraying it with silicon first.. I fill the cured latex molds with plaster of paris, after the plaster of paris was cured it released easier from the latex molds. I store the original plastic mask so I can use it again at a later date.

Great product!

I used the mold with ceramic clay and it worked beautifully - including relatively easy removal from the mold when clay was leather hard.…

Great for using as a mold

I bought this to make 3 flayed man cheeseballs for Halloween. It was perfect. Very sturdy for pressing it in the nooks and crannies.

We did something very unusual with this mask

We used it as a mold for a "flayed man" appetizer and it was the hit of our Halloween party. …This is the perfect mask to use as a mold - I sprayed the inside with Pam, lined it with torn and overlapping strips of proscuitto, packed it with the cheese ball recipe, refrigerated it, then unmolded it and put stuffed olives where the eyes were.... We didn't use it that way, but as a mold - PERFECT!…

a good face mask

I used it as a base for a slay mask, but it was a bit flimsy. if i had used it for its purpose on the face then it would have been perfect. unfortunately it did not mold my clay without cracking it.

Works Like A Charm

This mold works perfectly for it's intended use. It is best used for slip molding and produces a very fine basic mask profile for decorating.…

Although I'm sure this mold would be good for clays

Although I'm sure this mold would be good for clays, it's no good for plaster of paris. Using plaster of paris in this mold did damage it. I'll have to sand the mold and see if I can get it back into a condition that is usable.…

Is the mold flexible or is it solid?

The mold is solid and is made of plaster.

Is this a good mold for making ceramic masks

I've made several masks with it. It's an excellent quality mold.

How deep is the mold? Also, is the 9 by 5 dimension the actual size of the face?

yes, unlike the other ones that claimed to be 9x5, it is the actual size of the face. Its a couple inches deep I think. Its a good mask if youre using clay because its not plastic like the other ones I tried. I was using pottery plaster so I donated mine to a middle school art teacher.

Amazing mold

Mold was perfect great quality and such a good size

great mold

Loved this mold, used for paper clay, it came out easily before it dried, very happy with purchase.

Great mold

Works splendidly. Will order more in different styles.

Is this mold 9 inches by 1 centimeter? How big is the biggest bow in the center?

This mold is 3.5 inches in diameter and the biggest now in the center measures approximately 1.5 inches. Hope that helps!

does this mold work well with candy melts?

I think it would work great. I have not tried it, but Works good for fondant.

great mold

very good ive used it over and over again and really like it.

Ann
love the mold

love the mold. …My first time using a mold was very impressed.

Adorable and detailed little mold

Adorable and detailed little mold!…I'm very happy with this mold!

What are the dimensions of each of the faces?

The large face mold is 2"x1.5". Really large for figurines. The small mold is 1.5"x3/4". Better size for figurines for a cake. The molds are more ethnic looking, so if you aren't looking for ethnic, the features will have to be sculpted with a size 0, soft tipped, Color Shaper (you can find these on Amazon.) If you are looking for more of an Anglo style, I'd suggest Artisian Cake Company. Competitive prices. She also has great videos on how to use her molds. Hope this helps.

What is the length of each of the actual faces?

The large face is 2 inches long and 1 1/8 inch wide The small face is 1 1/4 inch long and 3/4 inch wide. These are nice faces and the mold has held up well. I have used them with Apoxy and clay.

Great for molding!

I liked the strength of the plaster! I made giant clam shells for our prom decorations.

Perfect for face mold

Very fast shipping. I'm getting ready for the Halloween and this was a perfect material to make a cast of my face. Very easy to use, dries as expected, would definitely order more and recommend!.

Simple and fun to use!

Great for mold castings, and easy to use!

Could this be used as a top layer ontop of alginate to strengthen it? I am looking to make a mold of breasts, but i need a sturdy top layer.

It can be used for most basic craft needs. if you want to use it to make a hard layer for a softer type of mold to hold it's shape, that should work. You'll want to give it a few layers for sturdiness.

What Are The Contents?

It is a plaster mold wrap, and it is none toxic.

... make a mold of my face and it worked great!

Used this to make a mold of my face and it worked great!

Five Stars

Worked great for the wife and my Halloween plaster mold.

Works great!

Easy to make a mold of any body part!

Z
how does it work?

It works best if you cut it into 1"X3" strips. I dip the strip into water quickly and then place it, with out wrinkling the strip, onto the mold or framework that you want to cover. Then smooth out the plaster. It is also helpful to apply one layer over the mold and then apply a second layer. It really is a good product.

How many would I need for a full head and shoulder cast?

How durable are you trying to go? The more layers, the more solid of course. Not knowing the size of the person, if I just based this off of myself, I'd probably do about 5 rolls. Keep in mind this product does shrink. The mold I did for a halloween mask shrunk everytime I put a new layer on. Should have made a mold for the mask to dry on in between layers.
