Works well. As others have said, the front plastic assembly can come off but is easily secured (I do IT work and have lots of little black cable ties so that's what I used- it really won't be a problem unless you have big clumsy dogs like I do... ha). Moves a lot of air and is fairly quiet. I'm happy with it.
- The fan is easy to assemble, no screws needed or anything - Fan size is on the regular side ideal for bedroom use. But if you have a big living room, this is not the ideal fan for you. - Fan is made from lightweight plastic material - Works as expected, no complaints.
Too sturdy for smashing.
I have not tried to charge it while running, so I don't know. you can buy extra batteries, but make sure you get the right ones. Because the batteries are not cheap, it is cheaper to buy another fan (keep as a back up) because it comes with one battery. (I bought 2 extra batteries and they cost more than the new fan.)
The entire fan is made of plastic, but we have 2 and love them. They are not cheap stuff, but well made. Hope this helps.
I needed an oscillating fan to spread the heat from a ventless gas heater we bought. The heater runs off our gas well and is used to supplement company natural gas heating. I am sure this will come in handy in Summer, too. I gave it 4 stars (not 5) only because it is mostly plastic but, hey, that's what the price reflects and what was expected. I could not find one reasonably priced anywhere in Erie, PA so Thanks Amazon!
I purchased two of these and running them for my cryptocoin mining rig for 24/7 nonstop for over a year and they are running without any issues. Probably the best fan out there. This fan is quiet and sturdy. I had other usb fan but threw it away after few days because it was really bad. And other cheap usb fans use ridiculous amount of power. This one is not. I highly recommend this one.
I bought this fan to sit on top of an Anker USB hub to cool my dual external RAID hard drives that sit in a Star Tech base. The bare drives plug into the Star Tech base like slices of toast, and they are only cooled by ambient air as the unit has no fan. With the little USB fan, I get plenty of air moving over the drives to keep them very cool. The fan is not very noisy, you can't possibly hurt yourself on the little plastic blades (although it did give the cat a fit once or twice). You can easily stop the fan with your fingers.…
For 3 or 4 sawbucks this is probably one of the most acceptable pieces of cheap consumer frivolity you can treat yourself to. I've gone through 3 other iterations of cheap desktop fans so I thought I'd share my opinion on this.… Form: The design is on point, it's an interesting Modern, non fan shape which is good because if it was fan shaped you would be judging it by the cheap build materials its made out of instead of it being almost desktop piece.…
