These mats are self repairing and made to use with rotary cutters. If your project uses the rotary cutter, I don't know why this wouldn't work for you. I love mine but am using it for quilt block use.
Yes if on a good solid table. It is great for cutting quilt squares.

Great quilting tool. It keeps quilt blocks in place as it turns when squaring up a block or cutting triangles.
This tool is perfect for squaring up large blocks. I had the smaller version which I used often with small blocks but I make a lot of 12 inch blocks too. Now this one is used more than the other one. And, of course, Amazon's price was better than I could get locally.
definitely. it was the best thing when cutting hexagon pieces for the quilt I'm working on. I told my son to get one for his wife for Christmas & she really likes hers too.
It hs been so long since I did any embossing I am not sure. It will give you a sturdy background to work against for sure. But when I did embossing I always taped my velum down and I am not sure about leaving residual glue on the board. But if you were to use the painters tape there shouldn't be a problem. It is a really nice board and I think as a scrap booking or card designing aid it would be great. I use it for cutting quilting blocks and pieces. It handles that kind of abuse perfectly. Compared to that, you would be gentle. And you can't beat the price.

This rotating cutting mat doesn't slide when I use it and it rotates smoothly. I think it's a good product and the price is reasonable. The markings are bright and visible and the mat has a smooth surface. I'm not disappointed.

Nice mat. Perfect for a beginner like me. The self healing work very well. The rotation is a plus.
I used this mat the first time to cut 5” squares of fabric into 2.5” squares. It was wonderful not to ave to pick up the fabric and move it manually! Mat is of great quality. Would recommend to any quilter.
