I purchased a pair of these AmazonBasic Self-Closing Door Hinge to help me with keeping my home office door shut! …I ended up buying two door hinges (top and bottom of the door) just to ensure enough tension for my door to close no matter if the door is open at 90, 45, 20, or 15 degrees. My door now closes smoothly like butter without any loud slams as bolt hits the door plate. Definitely well worth the time and investment to install if you are looking for a way to turn any door into an auto closing door. Hinges are low profile and provide a much cleaner looking solution as to those larger boxy solutions where you need add more hardware onto the door/frame.
Needed a door to close but not latch and the adjustment was quick and easy. Even though we received 2 hinges, a single hinge would likely have provided all the pressure needed to close the door completely - so, now I have an extra for any other use!

I do not think this particular hinge will. I suspect your exterior metal door has a bigger 4-hole hinge (mine do). The good news is that a hinge exists for those doors as well. I bought both. These hinges are fantastic for indoor doors.
Should work I originally had the hinges mounted flush on outside of door but for esthetic reasons mounted on inside of door jamb and door
It was easy to replace the existing door hinge and it works very well. A good addition to the external doors to save on your energy bills if you have children who will never close the doors after they open it.
We use this to close a light-weight hollow-core pantry door' and it works very well. I suspect multiple units would work together well for heavier doors.…
Needed a helper for keeping the pantry door closed. It in a tight spot in my home where I hvae my dog bowls and the entry to our basement is....leaving the pantry door open caused an issue for this spot...getting a self closing hinge was a perfect solution!!

Just installed two to my heavy door and still closes it well
I needed something to put on my classroom door since the kids seem to always leave it hanging open! Thankfully, the door only had two hinges installed, even thought there were three spots on the door and frame, so this was as easy as installing a few screws (check your pattern before buying!)…That may be because the kids throw the door open so fast sometimes!…Now, my door is never left open ann the heat and cool can stay where they belong!

Used these on my resturant doors going into the bathroom. Didn't want the bulky overhead closers they need holes in door and are hard to adjust. these hinged closers are awesome put inplace of the hing and whala instant door closers and the close so well that i only put one on per door.…

These are excellent, high quality hinges. Package comes in nice cardboard box, with 2 hinges, 12 screws, a hex wrench, two pins get inserted into the hinge, and installation instructions. You can adjust how strong you want the spring.

It’s a 2 pack but really you only need 1 per door. At least for inside doors. It’s not enough force to fully close a door with one but it will keep it pushed to the frame.…
…But, the laundry and garage are on the other side of that door. …NOTE: it is a hollow core interior door with little momentum. I will buy another set for an outside door from the same manufacturer and see how it works out on a heavier exterior door. …A slamming door is never desired in any event.... But that is true even with the fire doors at work.…

As long as the door is the right width. I used 2 on each door. They are thicker than a standard hinge.
I went by weight rather than length. My door was a solid wood door and needed to close flush. I used 3 on a standard height door

The Berlin Modisch self-closing door hinges work great, and the quality of the material is outstanding. I bought the four pack, used three on our door coming into the house from the garage so it will automatically close and it works great! The fourth one I put on our Casita door because everyone forgets to close it completely and problem is solved! Easy to install without taking the doors off; great product!
It is adjustable, so you can set the speed that it would shut the door and how fast or slow it would shut the door. I hope this helps.
