Tess Summers, a former businesswoman and teacher, always loved writing but never seemed to have time to sit down and write a short story, let alone a novel. Now battling MS, she has finally slowed down enough to start writing all the stories shed been wanting to tell, including the fun and sexy ones. Married over twenty years with three grown children, Tess is a former dog foster mom who ended up failing and adopting them instead. She and her husband (and their six dogs) split their time between the desert of Arizona and the lakes of Michigan, so shes always in a climate thats not too hot and not too cold, but just right.--This text refers to the audioCD edition.

I'm probably over thinking this but Travis had a mean and cruel streak! He knew he was wrong, but never tried to go after Ava and make it right! He allowed weeks to pass with no apology and then when finds out Ava is pregnant he suddenly wants to marry her! He was horrible and I couldn't t believe she would marry a man who would always have cruel streak!
That doesn’t make much sense.
Otherwise, Travis is basically a jerk, who seems nice at first. Ava is a doormat, who remains a doormat to the bitter end.
For me, this will not be remembered as a favorite, and is not a book I would recommend.
Changing the font and font size at the end of chapter 6 then going back to the original in the next chapter was distracting.
This book is good enough to read once and is enjoyable. Might sample Ron's story because he was such a good guy.

Great book that keeps you gripped throughout.
Ava has decided to get more experience in the bedroom & eventually make her ex jealous in order for him to try to get back with her.
In the meantime, Ava & Travis meet when he comes to pick up his nephew from a party gone out of control. It’s an interesting meeting, though I would have liked her to refuse the extra help for the clean up the next day (really, the teenagers who had the party should have taken care of all the clean up as part of their punishment). Here, it would have been nice to know what punishment was given for the party, which was missing from the story.
As for the job ultimatum Travis gave her, we never really find out why she turned it down (it`s not mentioned at all, except in passing, much later).
As soon as they got sick with food poisoning, it was clear how the story was going to develop & eventually end. Despite this, it was quite enjoyable to read.
