Current events have added a frightening flavor of reality to this series.

There's something extremely eerie about reading what is essentially an alternate history set in the not so distant future, which while written a couple of years ago, mirrors current events.

The series switches locations between books, alternating between the US and Europe. A lot of the locations are actual places, and the whole series has a plausibility that current events have only added to. Lots of action. lots of "fighting the last war" type decisions by senior military. It's a frightening version of our current reality.

Peter Nealen is a former Recon Marine, a combat veteran, and something of an aspiring renaissance man.
