Love is universal. As is heartbreak. Forbidden love makes the heart race. Lost love creates an ache that can last an eternity.
Love letters can be heartbreaking or exhilarating. They can create hope or dash it. They can be written to future loves, current loves or past loves. They can bring comfort or despair.
In this anthology, you’ll find it all, and each story has its own voice and its own message.
A Change of Circumstances-The application is complete, but her questions remain. Will she measure up? Is she making a mistake?
A Smile-Sometimes the smallest things can make the biggest difference in someone’s life.
A Twins' Blessing-Folklore and twins. Grief and joy.
Dear X-A letter we’ve all written.
Letters of Tragedy-Three stories in one that look at a famous tragedy from different perspectives.
Love Letter to Life-A brutally honest letter about depression, fear, and strength.
Love Letters to the Lonely Hearts-A reminder that we’re not alone, especially when we feel like we are.
Love's Voyage to Eternity-A lovely poem about the choices we make, and how we’re not alone in our journey.
My Dearest Robert-A joyous remembrance of a life together.
Neptune's Compassion-A love story that ends with a mystery.
Sealed With a Kiss-Deciding to choose hope over fear.
The Forbidden Kiss-A young girl’s mental gymnastics about her relationship with her teacher.
Ticket 972, A Saturday Morning at the DMV, and Colin-Sometimes life is predictable. And sometimes something unexpected happens.
Written in Stone-Sometimes things are just meant to be.

Some people are determined to act as if everything’s normal while others are devastated that they can’t have their annual Halloween gala. Trick or treating has either been cancelled or there are so many rules in place to protect everyone from Covid-19 that it barely resembles its previous incarnations.
For the 2020 Halloween Short Story Challenge, I tasked the authors to look at Halloweens past, present and future. I suggested they view the holiday through the out-of-focus lens of 2020, but they didn’t have to. I challenged them to search outside the box, inside the box and all around the box, until they found something that resonated within them.
For many, this year has been one of loss, fear, uncertainty and apathy. It’s been hard to get out of bed let alone be creative. That’s why this was an especially difficult, yet important, Challenge.
The authors in this anthology accepted that challenge and they’ve written an incredible, eclectic assortment of Halloween stories and poems. They’ll terrify you. They’ll delight you. They’ll make you laugh. And hopefully, for at least as long as it takes you to read them, you’ll be distracted from the real-life horrors of 2020. Enjoy!

She's proudly bisexual, Wiccan, a liberal feminist, and lives in northern California with her family and two rescued pets. To find out more about her stories, please visit kristenwalker.net.
Ichabod Ebenezer is the genre-promiscuous author of "A Shadow Stained in Blood" as well as countless short stories ranging from Horror to Sci-fi, from Fantasy to Mystery. He lives and writes in the Pacific Northwest with his family, a chameleon, and the ghosts of three cats. His latest book, Beyond the Rail and Other Nightmares, is now available through Amazon and other fine retailers, but there is always another skeleton at the back of his closet.
Hailing from Minnesota, Rachel Ann Michael Harris has wanted to be everything from FBI agent, actress, search and rescue dog handler, to teacher. But being a writer has been the only career that has stuck with her since childhood. She loved it so much that when she heard about a career where a degree in creative writing was acceptable, she was ready to jump. Double majoring in creative writing and communications, she graduated Magna Cum Laude and her first published work was a poem in her college’s literary magazine. Since then, she’s had numerous flash fiction stories published with Havok Publishing and is a contributor in several anthologies. She is currently working toward publishing her first full length novel. The Beauty of Magic is her first published novella.
When not writing, she is bingewatching a favorite TV show, reading a good book (hopefully), or doing one of these things when she should be writing.
If you want to keep up with her writing, reading, and dragons, follow her on Facebook, Instagram, GoodReads, LinkedIn, or her website at rachelannmichaelharris.wordpress.com.
Jeff Bacon is the author of The Darkside of Good, a supernatural dark fantasy thriller series that pits good against evil as the battle of Armageddon approaches. Jeff--also known as JB Chivvy--was born and raised on a farm near the city of Aberdeen, South Dakota and now lives in Janesville, Wisconsin with his wife, their children and 2 dogs. In his spare time, Jeff participates in Brazilian Jujitsu and submission wrestling (both of which help him write fight scenes in his books). He also enjoys outdoor sports like kayaking, rock climbing, and zip lining, but when he is feeling creative he loves nothing better than working with a piece of wood and making something unique.

Meagan's love of words began at an early age - starting with bedtime stories read nightly. Her first foray into the printed word was a collection of poems and stories, which was limited to a one-copy printing when she was eight years old. Unfortunately, this rare single copy was lost in a cross-country move.
When not creating word magic, Meagan spends her working hours among the stacks of her local library, where she has been happily employed for several years.
