I'm not a professional painter by any means but from my recent experience I'm satisfied enough. I used a urethane primer from another manufacturer that was very expensive and from what I can tell, this is just as good. The first time it sprayed pretty good. The second time I used some reducer and it went on much better. The number of coats you'll need will depend upon how bad your base is (pits & scratches) so coverage will vary. A gallon just did my truck. Since the stuff is catylized it'll take awhile to set up. I tried sanding after an hour but it was still a little gummy. Best advise is to spray it then sand it the next day. The smell is evil and deadly so a good respirator is a must.
