My Review:
I've read all the rest of this series. I just got behind on my reading in July, so missed this one when it came out. So, I'm reading this series a bit out of order, but that's okay. These books truly work as stand-alone reads just fine. And I'll admit, even though I've read the other two after this, I was still surprised by the story line in this one...and I really liked the back story for the two MC's.

Both Seth and Brooke have had horrific luck in love. Brooke's groom got arrested by the the altar. Seth's 3 year girlfriend turned him down flat when he asked her to marry him. Yeah, they both have a few war-wounds when it comes to love. But now they're planning a wedding together for Seth's sister...Brooke is the wedding planner.

Seth has a bit of a jaded view of the processions. Brooke's is a bit rosier, despite her own bumpy road. As a result, they definitely don't agree on a lot of things. Brooke can see how Seth is sucking all the fun out of his sister's wedding. And Seth is just doing what he does best...looking at things coldly and logically.

As with all of Lauren Layne's books, this was a fun read. Seth and Brooke start out very combative, but that's just covering some serious sexual attraction...something neither is ready for. They were fun characters to read about. And, OMG, I adored Grant, Seth's best friend...what a fantastic guy. Although I liked where his story went in the book, I'm kind of sad that he won't be getting his own book.

This has been a great series. I can easily recommend all the books in it. (there are three full length novels plus a novella.) If you like smart, sassy, contemporary romance, Lauren Layne never disappoints.
