I’ve read this book a couple times now and enjoyed it even more the second time. It’s a very good and inspiring read. I highly recommend for those that enjoy a good historical romance that is clean and has nothing worse than kissing. Though some of the violence from the era, though realistic, can be a turnoff for some. I would consider this a Christian romance. It’s not preachy in the ways some books are but rather incorporates God into it realistically. The characters aren’t perfect, I liked that also. I’d say it’s also fitting for teens to read, maybe age 14 on up. I recommend reading the series or line of books in order, but they can also be read stand alone. First time I read this book I didn’t realize it was part of a type of series, so i reward this book before Olivia’s story. Funny thing is, I’ve done it again. Of course I have read all related books to this series and have enjoyed them all. Jodi Hedlund is one of my favorite authors to read. I read her books when I’m in the mood for something inspiring, clean and sweet with good heroes and heroines. She hadn’t disappointed me yet. I highly recommend her books and this one.
