Center slides when installed on long spans (see video).
Serves as an ok visual barrier for my dog who respects fences, but not very sturdy when installed on a long open span. Once the baby is bigger she could easily push it across the floor. I actually had to shorten it up and straighten it out more as my bigger kids were accidentally scratching my floor when operating the gate (even when you tighten down the connections, the center isn't stable). There really should be some kind of floor to ceiling pressure bars or floor suction cup for the middle of this gate since it is advertised as being appropriate for wide spans. I was also a little frustrated that the brackets can only be mounted on the posts that have caps, not any bar in the fence- so the length isn't very customizable (see photo). I ended up with an extra panel at one end that I can't remove and more "give" in the fence than I'd like given that dogs and toddlers do push on fences. The swinging gate itself and the latch are easy to operate and decent quality. Nice looking and nice concept, just maybe not so well tested for this scenario.
