READER ALERT - do you ever absolutely LOVE the first book in a series or adore an author or series and feel both excited and nervous about book 2 (or 3, or 4) or the next release? Excited to see a new release but worried you’re putting too much hope on this new book? That it will somehow not live up to your expectations? FEAR NOT!!!! Laylah Roberts is so wonderfully consistent, each new book is as good as and (usually) better, it’s almost uncanny.
Hero Daddy is a true 5+ star read! As a stand-alone and as a continuation of the series. She gives us more details about secondary characters introduced previously, that leaves us intrigued yet strangely satisfied, knowing they’ll get their story one day and when it comes... I’m pretty sure they’ll be divine. She introduces new characters in a flawless way that moves the well plotted story forward, you hope return and have their own book one day. Primary characters, introduced previously in the series, are beautifully fleshed out with their own unique story, while pushing forward the over-arcing plot, but can absolutely be read as a stand-alone.
Ink and Betsy were smoking hot with a swoon worthy connection that didn’t fall into their laps. This was a relationship that was worked on, with each character extending grace to the other. Making the conclusion so very satisfying.
Yet another book that proves this author is an automatic pre-order, must read on release day, writer. I can’t wait to see what happens next in this series and excited to read anything else that releases with this author’s name attached.
