This is a dark themed mafia romance. It has scenes that may be a trigger or offensive to some. Examples are listed below for sensitive readers.

It is about a mafia hitman that is being blackmailed to only perform hits for Mr. X because he knows about his past. Lucy is a non-published writer that is in the wrong place at the right time. She witnesses Roman taking out a man. Roman doesn’t harm women or children so he is really struggling with what to do with Lucy. She is so different than any female he has met. She is passionate, feisty, interested in all things Murder, but still maintains her innocence. Then he is shocked when his latest assignment connects to her past and she wants to HELP him … what?!

I loved the plot, but the execution was not there for me. There are:

- quite a few grammatical issues, such as incorrect punctuation, incorrect word choice

- discrepancies between the characters, such as it states Roman uses a laptop to do some research, but then it turns around and poof! No electronics and the story makes a big deal about not having any electronics to the extent that Lucy is handwriting her novel. Then there are things he came up with that are suddenly her idea (IDs)

- disconnected character interactions within the epilogue.

I am not sure if the epilogue was authored by another, at a totally different time, or at the suggestion of someone else wanting to change the tone of how they interact even intimately, but none of it fits with Roman and Lucy imo.

I uploaded some examples and comments to Goodreads.com for anyone interested. I mention these for readers such as myself that visualize the story as it is read, because errors interrupt the flow.
