Customer Review

This is my second Charlie Hood novel and a decent sequel to Iron River. I can't compare them to any of his other work like some of the other reviewers and maybe that explains why I didn't have the same bad reaction. I liked both novels and this one slighter more. I had some complaints about Iron River but obviously liked it enough to read this one, and I'll likely read the next installment.

I didn't pick this book up expecting great literature, just good escape fare, and it delivered. There was enough in the banter between the characters and the settings I'm thoroughly familiar with in the So Cal area and the story itself to keep me interested. I also enjoyed my "visit" to the Costa Rican volcano vicinity. As with most fiction, you have to suspend your disbelief. Personally, I think the Love32 is a clever device that works for these stories.

One pet peeve -- I could have done without the detail in the one super heated sexual encounter. A Reader's Digest version of that would have been fine.
