I'm pretty happy with this sequel! The conclusion felt a lot more resolved than the original trilogy, and was overall very satisfying, so I'm glad the author kept going with these characters. Overall this is a great YA fantasy series with engaging characters and plots.
I did feel that this book suffered a little from noticeable typos and editing errors - there are a couple places were I think the same information was revealed to the reader twice, or some discovery was made to seem pivotal but then it didn't really go anywhere. The pacing also seemed a bit off in this one, and the character motivations less clear. The story was strong enough that these were just minor distractions, but a little more editing could take this from very enjoyable to fantastic.
