I have read a lot of Highland books and this had a unique beginning the way they were forced to marry was entertaining.
It took them forever to consummate their marriage. The first two times of being interrupted was ok, but then it became ridiculous. It was hard to see how a romance was going to happen.
There is violence, some suspense, very descriptive lovemaking (yes it finally happens), within marriage. When it does happen, it happens frequent. I also, agree with other reviewer's, that our h reaction to his previous lover was to calm.
Our H was not an alpha male as most Highlander books I read. He was very concerned with the h, which was nice but I felt out of character for a Laird's son. HE WAS TOO PATIENT WITH OUR h. I didn't really have a problem with our h as others did, yes at times she acted immature, but other times had a back bone. I also, agree with other reviewer's, that our h reaction to his previous lover was too calm.
The ending was ok, but mostly it was a set up for the next book. I did enjoy the H brother and the h friend, who are the main character's in the next book.
No cliffhanger for our main couple of this story. We are left wondering about the H brother and the h friend, not all is resolved for them, which if you want to more of their story, you will have to purchase the next book.
As usual, I am not going into the premise, just what you will discover in reading it. (ljb)
