The one star is not for quality or function as I just received it and after trying it out for a few minutes it seems to be promising, cut 3/4 in. branches no problem. It requires a safety lock to be pushed before the trigger will work but if you plug the charging cord into the battery the blade closes and stays closed without any input from you, the charger itself does not even need to be plugged in. I discovered this while sitting down with the blade close to my inner thigh, aside from the very serious cut this thing can inflict (femoral artery in my situation?) I don't know if I would have been calm enough to realize to remove the cord to release the jaw. I admittedly did not remove the battery from the tool before plugging in the cord as the directions say but a plug should not be able to override a safety lock. I included a still shot showing the closed blade in case the video does not work Unless this is a defective unit there should be a huge red lettered warning on the tool and in the instructions.
