The heavy weight and wide swath provided by the steel blade makes this shovel ideal for the type of snow I receive on the Colorado plains. Snowstorms tend to drop 1-4 inches of relatively low moisture snow. The shovel easily pushes that volume of snow out of the way.

I don't need to lift the snow or lift the shovel, just push the snow to the side.

The shovel is less ideal when the snow is significantly deeper or is especially high in moisture content and more than 3 inches deep. In that case, I switch to a shovel with a narrower and lighter blade because the snow requires more lifting than pushing. It still works for heavier snow, but the heavy duty, wide blade means that it takes more effort to lift the blade when loaded with snow.
