This book does not pick up after book 2, this is a complete different story line. This book has a lot of racial and social justice issues in it that got in the way and turned me off of the story. I really wanted to read it but got tired of reading about her biracial issues. Book 1 and 2 touched on sexuality, a childs comming out ceramony and leaned hard on stereotypes quite a few times and while it was readable it seemed forced into the story line. Great writer who seems to have something to say but not my cup of tea.
