My only non structural criticism is that the story too closely parallels the Iraq War. As that war was my war too, it is a forgivable offense. LTC Kratman uses his protagonist to fight the way we wish we could have fought from the beginning. His voice echoes what I heard all too often behind closed doors and among friends where no civilian could hear to take their misdirected offense. His sentiment was and is mine, and that of men I still keep in contact with after many years. For putting such things so eloquently into writing, he has my appreciation. For doing it in such a wildly entertaining manner, he has my appreciation and admiration.
