"The Girl in the Gatehouse" is Julie Klassen's best book to date. Hands down. I started reading this on Saturday and finished it up late Sunday night. (Books that are hard to put down are my FAVORITES.) The characters were interesting, I loved the parallels to Jane Austen and her novels, and there were several great couples to cheer for. And while written by a Christian author with Christian themes of forgiveness in the book, it's not overly "preachy". This is something I don't personally mind, but I think it's definitely tame enough that even someone who is not a Christian but loves Regency novels should be able to enjoy. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone!
