My lower legs begin to swell as soon as I get out of bed, so my doctor suggested compression knee-highs. I walked into a “durable medical equipment” pharmacy, and was shocked to see they were $65 for ONE PAIR, so I turned around and walked right back out of the door! Who do they think they are fooling? A girdle doesn’t cost that much, and it involves a lot more effort to sew together. Next, I decided to spend some time with my computer, and after a short search at Amazon, I discovered these. A few clicks and a couple of days later, they were delivered. They have been just wonderful. They are reasonably priced, very comfortable, simple to wash, and when applied first thing in the morning, my shoes never feel tight and my ankles are slim and pretty. I soak them in the sink for about ten minutes in warm water with just one drop of laundry detergent, rinse thoroughly, and hang them up to dry. I’m sure they would do well in the washing machine, but the dryer would probably be damaging to the elastic.

I am so satisfied with these socks that I ordered them to be shipped to my sister, who also suffers from venous insufficiency, and she likes them as much as I do. There you go — two up votes from one review!
