Provided with a free ARC for an honest review. I really enjoyed this book and thought the story was quite well conceived. It moved along well and the characters' backgrounds were well developed. I did have a few problems with it however. It takes place in California but is obviously written by a British author. This is evident by some odd usages, saloon for sedan, and kilometres instead of miles, and spellings: tyre for tire, colour for color, and programme for program. Maybe I'm just nitpicking but I found that stopped the flow somewhat. I also thought the extreme prejudice against Leighton to be a bit much. Why was he so disliked by higher-ups? All in all though I liked the book.
