I have read all the books in this series and each one was excellent. This book, however, Tops them all! (Bad pun intended ☺). I have read all the books in this series, and they have all been very good or great. So, I opened this one with high expectations. Well, author Laylah Roberts blew even my highest expectations away!
Caley is a successful writer, but her personal life is a mess. It doesn’t make her less of a wonderful person – she is just overburdened and overwhelmed beyond what she can handle With Isaac, Caley can let herself relax and be vulnerable, and be secure in the knowledge that he will take care of her. She feels that she can tell Archer anything and he is helping to heal her wounded soul. But life is complicated. How can she figure out how to move on, and in which directions to move on?
I don’t give spoilers, and I don’t like to take your time up with what you see in the blurb. I do want to tell you that the dialogue and banter in this book is top notch, and the conversations between the lead characters had me laughing from the first paragraph onward. I laughed frequently, and more than once I cried. I was shocked about good things that happened, and about traumas that the lead characters endured. The steamy scenes really deliver, and are as well-written as the rest of the story. This story has a lot more emotion than you would expect, and the happy ever after is triumphant. It’s an understatement to say that I really enjoyed this book! d
