You asked, and she listened! At the request of her followers, prolific author Sheryl Lister has answered the call of her readership and presents us with the first story of this series that features “a sassy seasoned sister” in the lead role. Enter Dr. Nzinga Carlyle, pediatrician, recently divorced, and a woman embraced by a great circle of friends. More about them later. After a contentious divorce, Nzinga is determined to get on with her life, and looks forward to attending her thirty-fifth class reunion with her girls. To add to this story, Ms. Lister enhances the storyline with one of the most well-liked tropes of Romancelandia, second-chance love. That brings me to the hero of this story, Byron Walker, retired military officer. Nzinga and Byron’s story is delightful!
One of the highlights of this story is meeting the sassy seasoned sisters, Donna Harper, Private Investigator, Valinda Anderson, Attorney, and Maxine Richardson, Occupational Therapist who complete the quartet of mature ladies. I wonder whose story is next. Byron’s brother Wesley and his wife and the parents of both Nzinga and Byron round out the remaining side characters who help move the storyline along. Byron and Nzinga’s HEA is beautiful!
I enjoyed this story of second-chance love highlighted by “mature” characters, and I recommend LOVE’S SWEET KISS for your reading pleasure.
