The only reason I didn't give it one star is because I thought the story line could have been really amazing and because of that I continued reading to the end. Normally when I start a book with such amateur writing I don't bother to finish it. This book is the first in the series that I've read, but in spite of that I still should have been able to figure out the character development without too much difficulty. Unfortunately, the plot jumped around so much it was hard to keep track of anything, and the dialog was often laughable, not to mention grammar and editing was at times nonexistent. I also purchased book 9 at the same time as this one since they were on sale. I've read both and wish I hadn't wasted my money or time. I'm really surprised that this series has such high ratings.
