Normally not a fan of Westerns, I decided, after reading The Bloodhounds, a great book by Ron Schwab, to try another. This book has child killings, gang rapes, and a level of violence rarely written into the serial killer books that I often read. I decided to stop reading and find something else. While the book is generally well written with good descriptions and dialog, I also couldn't overlook these late 19th century characters using late 20th century idioms. "Don't get your panties in a bunch." Really?
