Another reviewer said it was a great book to read on the first day of Autumn. I disagree. I bought it to read as a Fall book but it's actually a Thanksgiving book. Here in New Hampshire by the time Thanksgiving rolls around the leaves are LONG GONE and it's really more like winter. So reading this book early in the Fall when the leaves are actually turning, it's weird and premature to talk about Thanksgiving (Halloween hasn't even happened!) but reading it around Thanksgiving is weird too because apples and raking leaves and all that are well in the past.
