This is the first book I've read from Mills. One thing I noticed right away was snappy dialogue with lots of character personality.
The plot didn't pull me in as much as the dialogue.
I did enjoy the zodiac guardians. Great concept using the gods. I also liked how the author incorporated the dragon romance between them.
This is a book involving true mates.
The climax of the story fell flat for me. I would have liked to see more internal and external conflict from the main characters. I generally felt I was one step away from the character instead of experiencing it with the character. Which isn't bad...just not something I enjoy as a reader. I want full immersion into character's.
Otherwise the book is well written in general with a solid story.
