The “Christian perspective” on the title is misleading. Rohr is a universalist who claims to be a Christian. Before I came to realize how mystical and dangerous the Enneagram was, I picked up this book as a tool to grow in my walk with Christ. Even then before I understood the implications of what I was doing by incorporating this New Age philosophy into my faith, I was still completely caught off guard by how many times I was snagged on Roth’s “version” of Christianity, which is really a mixture of Catholicism and perennialism (all religions share a single truth >>> all roads lead to heaven). That is NOT the gospel message.

By no means go into reading this thinking it is giving you an accurate picture of Christianity at all. The Enneagram should be avoided altogether for professing Christians in general, but especially this book. Want to find the “path to self-discovery?” Read your Bible instead, friends!
