With the Arizona desert as its backdrop, Desert Heat is a tale of one woman's quest to learn more about the father she never knew.

When Mallory James set out to a ranch in Arizona to claim the body of her father, she had no idea what was in store. Saying she got more than she bargained for will be an understatement. She not only encounters hostility, murder and crazy plots to get rid of her, she also winds up with both physical and emotion treasures.

The plot of Desert Heat is refreshingly unpredictable as at one point even the hero, Mike was in the frame for murder.

I love the fact that Mallory had her own mind and despite the obvious attraction between her and Mike, she didn't lose her head or give in to her feelings until Mike had been cleared as a suspect.

I also loved that Mallory's rival for Mike's affection was an ordinary girl not some high powered model/rich girl seen in so many romance novels these days. Dianna was just an ordinary girl with a crush on the boss making her very relatable.

Desert Heat is a great read because it's not just a romance novel. Although the attraction Mallory and Mike sizzled throughout the book until the very end when they got together, Desert Heat also has a good plot to rival that of any crime novel.

Its plot has enough twists and turns to keep lovers of suspense on their toes till the very end. I highly recommend it.
