I was leery when the introduction suggested this book was similar to The Ram Rebelllion, which had its good points but I found a wearying slog through the genealogy of Grantville in too many places. I was wrong, This is similar inasmuch as it is a tale told by different authors, but the characters appear in almost all the stories, and more important, the stories hang together superbly. Each separate chapter might merit a much longer section or even a complete book, yet somehow the whole comes together in a surprisingly interesting and logical way. Overall, this is an excellent addition to the series and adds a whole new dimension to the expanding ripples of the Ring of Fire. Well done.
