I pre-ordered this book expecting it to be full of Glenys Nellist's usual wisdom and beauty and it did not disappoint. This is one of those beautiful books that is multi-layered and accessible for people of all ages. Young children will enjoy the story of Little Mole exploring the world and I'm sure they'll be inspired to look for signs of spring on their next winter-y walk. Older kids and adults will enjoy wondering about Hope, and how we find it in the world. (As proof, I offer that I read it with middle schoolers. They were delighted by the cute story and charming illustrations--then they followed it with a deep conversation about finding hope when the world seems dark.) I have a copy for home and a copy for church and I know they will both be well-loved.
