Quick story with a powerful message for tweens and up. The story is told from the viewpoint of a 216 year old red maple, as he watches immigrant families come and go through the years. After someone left a message of hate carved in Red's trunk, he decides to take action, breaking every rule known to trees. There is a delightful cast of critters and one very smart crow, adding warmth and humor to the tale. Highly recommend for ages 10 and up.
