Wow. Melissa Marr has done it again. I am continually in awe of the world she has created for us, her readers, in the series Wicked Lovely. Darkest Mercy, the last in the series, was incredible. It was fulfilling and melancholy at the same time. The tinge of sadness came from the knowledge that it was the last book. It is always hard to let go of a favorite book series. In this book all of the characters readers have grown to love in the series are back along with new ones that we learn to appreciate. I had missed being inside of the heads of some of my favorite characters. It was both familiar and different at the same time because they all have grown and made colossal choices since we had been inside their heads last. Even with many viewpoints, the story is flawlessly woven together to give the reader a comprehensive look at the impending battle and the culmination of previously made choices. I could not put the book down or even let it out of my sight until I finished it.
