Those words above are Emma's thoughts about Rhody after he saved her once again. I am so very glad that Mr Petit wrote this book. I've always enjoyed stories about the sea and this one is very good. Was it divine providence or coincidence that Rhody met Emma, Willie, and Marty? We will just never know, but I think God knows. This novel was delightfully very different from many of Mr Petit 's other novels. There is mystery, sadness, building tension, emotional stress, love, gun play (long range and short range), and many twist and turns to keep you guessing to the very end. The next two sentences summarize the whole novel: Rhody stayed five years in Texas to learn about its culture and then left to see the rest of the west. "On the way to the Pacific Ocean he'd found a priceless treasure that was nothing less than priceless". Please write some more sequels about this rescued family. So different, so entertaining. Enjoy.
