I've heard plenty of bad things about "Space Jam", but personally, I think it's a pretty fun movie to watch. True, Michael Jordan is no Laurence Olivier, but he's definitely a better actor as himself than Shaq is as a rapping genie. The classic Looney Tunes characters are just as 'looney' as you'd hope to expect, and their voice actors (all FIVE of them, which is weird since they were all originally voiced by ONE man, Mel Blanc) do a pretty good job with the recognizable voices of the cartoon all-stars. However, the one thing I love about the movie is that the animation is just FANTASTIC. Not only is it very fast-paced, creative, fluid and expressive, but it also has great shading effects and blending with live-action (kinda like Roger Rabbit) which almost looks like they were filmed right on the set! One thing that kinda bugs me (no pun intended) is that there are a little too many extreme-close ups, but that's more of a nitpick. With great animation, looney tuney humor and the inclusion of the song "I Believe I Can Fly", (believe it or not) "Space Jam" is no masterpiece, but it's worth at least checking out once.
