I honestly couldn't quite remember why I bought this book. I'm an avid reader and order a ton of books at once. The reviews for this book were great so I read it before any others. The first paragraph of the book was one of the best paragraphs I've ever read. The whole book was creepy and eerie; you could even tell that the narrator was hiding information from the reader. I read this book in three days, which is quick considering my busy life. I couldn't put it down. I've never read any of Shirley Jackson's books, nor any of the mystery/horror genre, but now I'm hooked. I'm going to read The Haunting Of Hill House next.
