I bought these cutting mats not realizing that they were not Cricut brand mats. This didn’t bother me at all so I started my project yesterday, dec 23. I began to smell a very strong smell that I didn’t at first attribute to the mats. It was like an industrial adhesive smell. It got stronger and I realized that it was the mats!! My whole family smelled it. It filled the room to the point that we had to open windows. I also began to have an allergic reaction to the smell. My face, nose, throat and eyes itches and burned. I’ve never had an allergic reaction to glue, adhesive or anything like that. I had to take two Benadryl and throw the mats away. The smell lasted in our house for HOURS and we had to go to sleep with the windows open. I missed out on all the activities that my family had planned for the evening because I had to take two Benadryl which knocked me out completely. So if you don’t mind the strong smell and aren’t allergic then these work fine, At least once, I don’t know how well they last. The worst part is that I don’t know what kind of adhesive was used so I don’t know what I’m allergic to....
