Throughout the story I kept thinking that a good editor would have "cleaned up" the writing. A few of the phrases used were not the language that was used in those times. Also, there were grammatical errors and much repetition throughout. The story itself, however, was marvelous, thus the four star rating. I was impressed with Alexa's way of pushing through the most horrific situations and still forgiving those who enslaved her. Bravo.
