This started off pretty strong, and the writing wasn't bad (by today's standards). But very early on it seemed to me that this was heading toward a book that was part adventure and part alarm about how man is destroying the planet. I read through it for a while but after only ten percent of the book, I just got tired of feeling like I was receiving a mild form of indoctrination and deleted it from my Kindle. For some, the eco-focus may be a bonus, but I am just tired of hearing about it from everywhere and don't want to have it pushed on me when I am reading for pleasure.
