Alastair Reynolds has an amazing ability to create future worlds with multi-dimensional life-like characters and universe that is not flat and simplified as in some works. He thrives not necessary to answer every question but allows the reader to join him on the journeys that infinite in its inception. I appreciate his science based details that makes the story feel real. The limitations of speed of light for example is just one of the concept he is brilliantly crafts his story around. House of Suns has an engaging plot that hook the reader and fun and unpredictable in its development. The longevity concept of various lines including the main line with Purslane and Campion allows for readers to comprehend the vastness of time-space. Another great concept is the Spirit of the Air. This one actually is close to my heart and my own interpretation of universe and could be a story in itself. My favorite 5 books by AR are 3 in Revelation Space series, Pushing Ice and House of Suns.
