A corny period piece right out of the very early sixties. Horrible choreography. A few good songs. The plot makes no sense at all. But you have to watch it, if only for Ann-Margaret. Her opening and closing cameos are worth the price of admission alone. The only reason they didn't cast Elvis for the role of Conrad Birdie, is because his manager (Col. Tom Parker) was afraid Ann-Margaret would still the show. He was wise to be afraid.
