It took me a bit to get interested in this book. I read the first chapter and then put it aside for a few weeks. But when I picked it up again I couldn't put it down!
Kathryn's husband, Larson, leaves one morning, gets caught in a blizzard and doesn't come back. Everyone tells her that he died in the blizzard, but she never believes it...not even when they find his body. In the next months she struggles to keep her ranch, finding work and friends in unexpected places.
Larson leaves and get attacked on the road, becoming badly burned in a fire as he tries to escape his attackers. A man named Isaiah, and his wife Abby, nurse him back to health. And while he loves with them he finds a relationship with Christ. When he comes back home, nothing is like he expected. His ranch is deserted, his wife is pregnant-with what he thinks is another man's baby, and she's had to take jobs and meet friends in less than desirable places.
When they both get a job on the same ranch, Larson doesn't tell Kathryn who he is, but slowly they both fall in love with each other.
I didn't have very many expectations when I first started reading this book, but it turned out to be a good story of a couple whose romance is rekindled!
