If you’re new to this series, and wondering what the big deal is, let me tell you: they are great, warmly and richly written, happy stories. There are no princesses. There is no action figure to purchase after reading. Just strange and yet oddly familiar stories, with language that introduces ways to discuss the world with kindness and nuance. I am grateful they exist and it’s a joy to read them with my daughter (6 years old).
