Canon seems to determine whether a cartridge needs replacing long before its time - especially if you leave your printer on and don't turn it off. These are ridiculously expensive, well-made but should last much longer. I have an iX6820 printer. I understand wanting to sell the printer inexpensively to make money on the cartridges but these are some of the shortest lasting cartridges I have had over the years and I've had Epson and HP printers before. However, I will say when my printer was messed up by putting labels through it, Canon's support was excellent and they shipped me a free printer. So you are paying for good support when you buy these cartridges.
