The primary protagonist in every single one of these books is a boy. WHY??? My 8-year-old daughter is enjoying reading these books, but I HATE the it reinforces the idea that history is about men. I see that in books 11-20 there are 3 books that feature girls. So in the second set of 10, a whopping 30% are girls. But 100% boys in the first 10 books of the series? WHY????? Why reinforce that in children who have a chance to grow up without those biases?
