We pick up where book 1 left off, with Jesse going after Wyatt through the Vault, but the Council is there and they know who she is. After she’s accepted by the Vault, the Council lets her into Exemplar as long as she continues to act like a guy. If she thought the trial was tough, it’s okay nothing compared to Exemplar. Not only are she and Wyatt completely new to the magik world, but they have to keep so many secrets as well. Seeing as Exemplar has to explain why there’s now 2 Storme siblings, instead of just Wyatt, things become even more difficult for Jesse. Thankfully they’ve found solid support to help them, although it takes a bit to determine who is actually helping and who isn’t. Her journey through the first semester gives you all the feelings, and they run the spectrum. I’m glad the twins have each other, but I’m super glad Jesse has the support she finds and I’m seriously hoping she’s open to a little more because I think it’d be great! I’m excited for the next book because that ending was amazing and I can’t wait to find out the fallout.
